Annapurna Pictures launches international TV division with bold leadership moves

Annapurna Pictures is expanding its international reach with a new TV division and key leadership changes. The company, known for its bold film projects, is now pushing into gaming, theatre, and scripted television.

Ed Rubin has been named Head of International TV and will oversee development from the London office. His team includes Tsedenia Skitch, who joins as Development Producer to help shape ambitious new shows.

The London-based division will focus on high-end scripted projects, drawing talent from the UK and beyond. Rubin's role involves originating and developing a fresh slate of series, signalling Annapurna's growing commitment to television.

Alongside the TV push, Skye Optican continues to expand the company's international footprint. As VP of International Film & TV and Head of Theatre, she has been building Annapurna's presence across film, TV, and theatre in London.

Back in the US, Chelsea Barnard and Matthew Budman are returning to Annapurna as co-heads of film. Their return strengthens the company's production focus, though film distribution remains off the table for now.

Recent successes include I Love Boosters, which opens the SXSW Film Festival, and The Invite, acquired after a strong Sundance premiere. These projects reflect Annapurna's renewed momentum in film, even as it diversifies into new areas.

The launch of Annapurna's international TV division marks a strategic shift for the company. With Rubin leading in London and new leadership in the US, the focus is firmly on production across film, television, and theatre. More projects and structural changes are expected as the company continues to grow.
