Anwar Ibrahim urges Sabah voters to demand ethical leadership in state election
Malaysia’s Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on Sabahans to choose leaders wisely in the upcoming 17th Sabah State Election. Speaking ahead of the vote, he urged the public to reject politicians who prioritise personal wealth over the needs of the poor and vulnerable.
The election, set to involve 1.76 million eligible voters across 73 seats, has drawn sharp focus on leadership integrity. Anwar stressed that Sabahans should assess political figures based on their performance in office—not just during election campaigns or after retirement.
Anwar’s remarks come as Sabah prepares for a crucial election, with 1.76 million voters set to decide the next state government. His call for accountability and ethical leadership reflects broader concerns about corruption and governance in the region.
