Anwar Ibrahim's Plan: Tackle Cartels, Fund Education, Aid Gaza
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has outlined plans to tackle cartels and corruption, with a focus on recovering funds for social initiatives. Meanwhile, he's also working to facilitate humanitarian aid to Gaza and promote AI development while upholding moral values.
Anwar aims to recover RM15.5 billion from dismantled cartel activities to fund free education for the poor. To this end, RM120 million has already been allocated to provide free education through PTPTN to 5,800 students from low-income households.
In a diplomatic move, Anwar plans to communicate with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to facilitate the passage of a Malaysian humanitarian aid contingent into Gaza through the Rafah crossing.
The Prime Minister has also been actively involved in regional diplomacy. He previously brokered a ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, and officials from both countries held negotiations in Malaysia to ease their ongoing border tensions.
Anwar's government is committed to addressing cartel activities and corruption, with recovered funds earmarked for social welfare programs. Additionally, he's working to facilitate humanitarian aid to Gaza and maintain regional peace. The government is also exploring alternative revenue sources to fund spending, rather than relying on higher taxes.
