AP-NORC Poll: Americans Mixed on Trump's Domestic, International Handling
A recent AP-NORC survey reveals a mixed bag of opinions on President Donald Trump's handling of various domestic and international issues. Conducted between October 9 and 13, 2025, the poll offers insights into the American public's sentiments.
Starting at home, a mere 33% of Americans approve of Trump's economic management, with a similar figure, 3 in 10, supporting his leadership on health care. This is in stark contrast to the 47% who approve of his handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. On immigration, only 4 in 10 Americans give Trump a thumbs-up.
Looking at party lines, most Democrats disapprove of Trump's health care work, with 8 in 10 independents and 33% of Republicans sharing the same view. Overall, Trump's approval ratings for his job performance remain low, with nearly 7 in 10 Americans believing the country is headed in the wrong direction.
Despite the mixed reviews, 47% of respondents approve of Trump's handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and almost 50% support his handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict. However, the poll, conducted before the release of hostages and prisoners in Israel, suggests that the American public remains divided on Trump's leadership.
