Armed Man, 25, Arrested in Berlin After Threatening Ride-Hailing Driver
A 25-year-old man, known to police, was arrested in Berlin's Gesundbrunnen district early this morning. The suspect, apprehended on Freienwalder Straße around 2:15 a.m., is believed to have threatened a ride-hailing service employee at gunpoint, stealing his company car. The suspect, who was found to be driving without a valid license and appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, was taken into custody. A blood sample was collected for testing. The case has since been transferred to a specialized unit within Police Directorate 1 (North) for further investigation. The suspect is now awaiting a decision from an investigating magistrate, who will determine if an arrest warrant should be issued. The arrest follows an overnight incident in which a ride-hailing service employee was threatened with a firearm. The suspect, a repeat offender, is now in police custody as the investigation continues.
