Armed robbery at Conringplatz leaves 22-year-old victimized in Helmstedt
Helmstedt. A 22-year-old man from Helmstedt was the victim of an armed robbery at Conringplatz on Sunday evening. Two unknown men approached him and asked for a lighter. Suddenly, one of the assailants threatened the young man with what appeared to be a firearm and demanded his valuables, according to a police press release.
The 22-year-old then handed over his belongings, including his wallet. The perpetrators fled the scene afterward. Later, multiple unauthorized withdrawals were detected at cigarette vending machines.
Suspect Descriptions Released
One of the suspects is described as approximately 20 years old and 1.85 meters tall, with an athletic build and a southern European appearance. He was wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants. The second suspect is estimated to be around 25 years old, 1.75 meters tall, and of stocky build. He wore a light-colored parka and jeans. Witnesses with any information about the suspects are urged to contact Helmstedt police.
