Army Tackles PCS Move Stress with Digital Resources and Leader Support
PCS moves, a common occurrence in military life, can bring significant stress to soldiers and their families. The Army is taking steps to mitigate these challenges, as highlighted at the Warfighter and Family Forum in October 2025.
Sgt. Maj. Rubén Murillo, senior enlisted adviser in the Army's Prevention, Resilience and Readiness Directorate, recognises the strain PCS moves can cause. Despite attempts to identify the soldier who posed as Murillo and gave a statement at the forum, no details have been found.
To ease the burden, the Army provides digital resources. Army Community Service, a quality-of-life website, and the My Army Post app offer assistance. These tools can guide families through the moving process. Additionally, Brig. Gen. Landis Maddox advises leaders to ask about PCS readiness and offer support during in-processing and out-processing.
While the identity of the soldier who posed as Murillo remains unknown, the Army continues to address the stress of PCS moves. Digital resources and leader support are key strategies to help soldiers and their families navigate these changes.
