Arnsberg Fire Department modernizes equipment and leadership in 2025
Arnsberg Fire Department has completed a significant renovation of its equipment bays, including emergency power supply systems. Meanwhile, Basic Fire Unit 4 held its main operational briefing on March 1, 2025, marking 12 years of service.
The department has seen several changes in leadership. Carsten Schleimer stepped down as head of youth development, with Nicole Gerke and Frank Weber taking over the children’s and youth fire brigades respectively. The new head of the Herdringen fire patrol is yet to be publicly announced.
Promotions were awarded to several firefighters, including Celine Danne, Svenja Beleke, and René Tschernay, among others. Awards for years of service were given to Alexander Buch, Hendrik Lammert, and many more. The honor guard was also recognized for its dedication.
The department faces key challenges, including reorganizing the fire service, addressing maintenance backlogs, and developing strategies for large-scale emergencies. Youth engagement is a priority, with children’s and youth fire brigades seen as crucial for recruitment.
Arnsberg Fire Department looks to the future with significant changes planned to ensure it remains fit for purpose. The completion of equipment bay renovations and the successful operational briefing of Basic Fire Unit 4 mark important milestones in the department's history.
