Arnsberg Library Joins Anti-Racism Initiative with Exhibits and Talks

Arnsberg City Library is set to take part in the Arnsberg Weeks Against Racism, running from March 16 to 29, 2026. The programme includes a mix of exhibitions, discussions, and educational events for all ages. The initiative kicks off with an official launch by Mayor Paul Bittner on March 14 at 11 AM in the Neheim branch.

One of the first events will be the interactive exhibition State Parliament Meets School, running from March 13 to 27. Aimed at students in grades 3 to 5, it builds on past success—previous editions in Dortmund and across North Rhine-Westphalia engaged older pupils and young adults through hands-on learning about democracy.

On March 14, the Anne Frank: A Girl and Her Story exhibition opens, remaining on display until April 14. Visitors can explore the exhibition during regular library hours.

Later in the programme, on March 19 at 7 PM, sociologist Naika Foroutan will lead a lecture and discussion on her book The Post-Migrant Society. The event offers a chance to explore themes of identity and integration in modern Germany.

Towards the end of the fortnight, Rote Schule Neheim Primary School will present findings from its peace journey to Scampton. Scheduled for March 25 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM, the session highlights the school's efforts in fostering international understanding.

The series of events wraps up on March 29 after two weeks of activities. The library's participation in the Weeks Against Racism provides opportunities for learning, reflection, and community engagement. All events are free to attend and open to the public.
