Arson Spree in Karlshorst: Eight Fires, One Suspect Arrested
Overnight, Karlshorst was hit by a series of fires, with eight fires reported between 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. The police have since arrested a 28-year-old suspect, who is currently in custody. The fires, which caused no injuries, targeted various items including trash bins, tree branches, a park bench, and a camper van. Two cars and a motorcycle were completely destroyed. The arson investigation unit at the State Criminal Police Office has taken over the ongoing inquiry. The suspect, whose name has not been disclosed, was apprehended and taken into custody. He was processed for identification and a blood sample was taken before being released. The fires affected locations along Köpenick Allee, Verlängerte Waldowallee, Loreleystraße, Günter-Riesebrodt-Weg, Maria-Matray-Straße, Lisbeth-Stern-Straße, and Krahenwinkel. The police are continuing their investigation and urge anyone with information to come forward.
