Arunachal Pradesh's Rail Infrastructure Booms: Surveys Complete, Projects On Track

Field surveys for the Silapathar-Bame-Along and Misamari-Tawang amtrack routes have been completed, paving the way for further development of rail infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, the Pasighat train station is on track to be completed by December 2023, set to become a crucial transport hub for the eastern part of the state.

The detailed project report for the Pasighat-Tezu-Parshuram Kund-Rupai amtrack line has been finalised, promising a boost to tourism and trade along the Brahmaputra valley corridor. The Naharlagun train Station in the capital region is also being upgraded under the Amrit Bharat scheme to improve passenger amenities and capacity. The Pasighat-Tezu-Parshuram Kund-Rupai amtrack project, part of the Indian government's strategic infrastructure and connectivity efforts in the northeast, aims to connect key cities and religious sites, fostering socio-economic development and logistical accessibility in the region.

With the commitment of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu to enhance train connectivity, the state looks forward to the completion of these rail projects. The Pasighat-Tezu-Parshuram Kund-Rupai amtrack line, once operational, is expected to significantly impact tourism and trade, while the upgraded Naharlagun train Station will improve passenger experience. The successful completion of field surveys for other amtrack routes further underscores the progress being made in developing Arunachal Pradesh's rail infrastructure.
