ASEAN-Korea Week 2025 Kicks Off with Cultural Trail on Jeju Island

The ASEAN-Korea Centre has initiated ASEAN-Korea Week 2025 on Jeju Island. The week-long festivities, from November 11 to 15, commenced with the unveiling of 10 benches honouring Southeast Asian nations along the ASEAN-Korea Olle route.

Last year, the ASEAN-South Korea Dialogue Partnership was elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This year's event signifies a notable advancement in ASEAN-Korea relations. The ASEAN-Korea Olle Trail, inaugurated by Singapore's ambassador Wong Kai Jiun, welcomes ASEAN visitors and introduces ASEAN culture to local tourists on Jeju Island.

The ASEAN-Korea Centre, an intergovernmental organization promoting cooperation between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea, expressed delight at the launch of the ASEAN benches. Vice Governor of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Kim Ae-sook emphasized the support from the Jeju Governor's office for the Jeju Olle Foundation. Ministerial Counsellor Nguyễn Thị Thái Bình, representing the Vietnamese delegation, anticipates visits from the Vietnamese community and future travellers from Vietnam.

The ASEAN-Korea Olle Trail, an initiative of the ASEAN-Korea Kooperationsfonds, was developed jointly by the Jeju Olle Foundation and the ASEAN-Korea Centre. The trail, designated as the 'ASEAN-Korea Olle' last year, is expected to stimulate tourism and cultural exchange between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea.
