Ashimbayev Calls for Effective Implementation of President's Orders on Village Development
The Kazakh Senate, led by Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev, has reviewed a series of new laws targeting rural growth, national programmes, and key reforms. Among the measures passed were laws on subsoil management, historical preservation, and anti-corruption efforts.
The legislative package aligns with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s directives to modernise governance and protect citizens’ rights.
One of the approved laws amends the Subsoil and Subsoil Use Code to streamline geological data management. It introduces digital systems for transparency and attracts investment by granting priority rights to strategic investors in large-scale mineral projects. The changes also aim to simplify exploration and extraction processes.
Another law, focused on anti-corruption, civil service reforms, and asset recovery, enforces Constitutional Court rulings. It strengthens legal protections and ensures compliance with Tokayev’s instructions on upholding the rule of law.
Deputies also passed legislation to safeguard historical and cultural heritage. The law establishes the National Archaeological Service and improves juvenile adaptation centres by integrating an automated information system. Educational services for minors will see enhancements under this measure.
Additionally, a new law restricts harmful online content to protect children. It targets the spread of questionable information and promotions of non-traditional sexual orientations, reinforcing archival regulations in the process.
The Senate’s decisions mark a step toward digitising state processes and tightening legal safeguards. The laws will now move to implementation, with a focus on investment growth, corruption prevention, and youth protection. Further details on enforcement timelines are expected in the coming weeks.
