Assam CM to Distribute Land Pattas to 4,700 Tribal Families in South Kamrup
Assam is set to host a significant distribution event at Pantan Higher Secondary School's playground in Palasbari. On November 15, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma will distribute land pattas to 4,700 tribal families of South Kamrup under the Forest Rights Act. This event precedes Janajatiya Gaurav Diwas and is expected to bring much-needed relief to the beneficiary families.
The event's preparations are underway, with Assam Cabinet Minister for Education and Welfare of Plain Tribes & Backward Classes, Dr Ranoj Pegu, visiting the venue to oversee arrangements. He was accompanied by Palasbari MLA Hemanga Thakuria during the inspection. Kamrup Deputy Commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra and West Kamrup Forest Division officer Subodh Talukdar were also present, ensuring all logistics are in place.
The distribution of land pattas is a crucial step towards securing land rights for the tribal families. These legal documents, issued by government authorities, will provide the beneficiaries with official recognition of their land ownership, enabling them to build homes, cultivate crops, and live with dignity.
The land patta distribution event on November 15 is a testament to the Assam government's commitment to empowering its tribal communities. With the support of local officials and ministers, the event is expected to run smoothly, bringing hope and relief to the 4,700 families in South Kamrup.
