Assam unveils statue honoring late Adivasi leader Silvius Condpan in Mazbat

A statue honouring the late Silvius Condpan was unveiled in Assam's Mazbat constituency. The ceremony took place in the Khel pathar area of the Dhansri tea garden. Assam Cabinet Minister Charan Boro led the event, celebrating Condpan's contributions to the region and its Adivasi Rai community.

Silvius Condpan was once a prominent political leader in Assam. He served as the former President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), a Member of Parliament, a state Minister, and an MLA for Mazbat. His work left a lasting mark on local development, particularly for the Adivasi Rai people.

Minister Charan Boro spoke at the unveiling, calling Condpan a visionary. He highlighted the late leader's dedication to improving the lives of those in Mazbat and the wider Adivasi community. Though Condpan's name is not widely recognised in broader historical records, his influence in the region remains significant.

The statue now stands as a tribute to his legacy in the Dhansri tea garden. It serves as a reminder of his political career and the impact he had on Assam's social and political landscape during his time.
