Astana Mayor Zhenis Kassymbek Dismisses Promotion Rumors, Focuses on City and Diplomacy
Astana's Mayor Zhenis Kassymbek recently addressed rumours about his potential promotion, stating 'Don’t believe rumors. Commenting on rumors is not serious.' Kassymbek, who has held various high-ranking positions, was appointed mayor on December 8, 2022.
Kassymbek's career spans over two decades. He began as a research intern in 1997 and later headed a department at the Committee for Antimonopoly Policy from 1998 to 2000. Between 2004 and 2005, he directed Aktau International Sea Trading Port. His rise continued with roles as deputy minister of transport and communications and minister of transport and communications. Notably, he served as governor of the Karaganda region from 2019 to 2022.
In his current role, Kassymbek not only manages Astana but also represents Kazakhstan in diplomatic missions and international organizations.
Despite rumours, Mayor Zhenis Kassymbek remains focused on his duties, leading Astana and representing Kazakhstan diplomatically. His extensive career in various roles demonstrates his commitment and experience.
