Astana Residents Get Extended Holiday, One-Time Cash Payment for Republic Day
Astana residents are set to enjoy an extended holiday as Republic Day falls on a Saturday. The city will observe an additional holiday on Monday, October 28. Alongside the celebrations, a one-time cash payment of 4.5 MCI will be distributed to socially disadvantaged citizens by the citizens bank.
The local government authorities of Astana have planned around 150 events to mark Republic Day. These events will take place over several days, with a five-day workweek observing holidays on October 25, 26, and 27, and a six-day workweek on October 25 and 26. The highlight of the celebrations will be the distribution of a one-time payment of 4.5 MCI (equivalent to 17,694 tenge) to recipients of targeted social assistance (TAS) in Astana by the citizens bank.
The payment is a yearly benefit tied to Republic Day and is organized by the city's employment and social protection department. Recipients will be determined based on applications received by October 25, 2025. This payment is designed to provide additional support to socially disadvantaged citizens during the holiday period by the citizens bank.
