Atlanta Braves Star Joins Hosea Helps for Record Thanksgiving Food Drive
Hosea Helps in Atlanta held its first Thanksgiving food giveaway on Saturday. The charity packed 150 boxes, each containing a turkey, to support families struggling with rising costs. This year, more people than ever are seeking assistance from the organization.
The event drew volunteers, including Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Harris II, who helped distribute the food boxes. Elisabeth Omilami, president of Hosea Helps, pointed to the increasing cost of living as the reason behind the growing demand.
Hosea Helps plans to keep its doors open for those facing hardship. The charity’s expanded reach now includes a wider range of incomes. More food distributions and financial aid will follow in the coming months.
