Atlanta unites leaders to boost youth opportunities in STEAM and global ties
Atlanta’s political and business leaders came together for the Elaine Bryan Foundation’s 16th annual Inspirational Luncheon. The event focused on expanding youth opportunities, global partnerships, and workforce development in the city. Among the attendees were Mayor Andre Dickens and Jamaica’s Ambassador to the US, Antony Anderson.
The luncheon drew corporate executives, elected officials, students, and community advocates. Discussions centred on improving access to education and career pathways, especially in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and maths) programmes. The Elaine Bryan Foundation, which organised the event, helps students gain mentorship, training, and real-world experience in high-demand industries.
Mayor Dickens highlighted the importance of early exposure to STEM education. He stressed how such opportunities can transform individual lives and uplift entire communities. He also reaffirmed Atlanta’s commitment to being 'the best place in America to raise a child,' with youth-focused initiatives remaining a top priority. The event also showcased Atlanta’s growing international ties, particularly with Jamaica. Dickens described the connection as essential to the city’s identity as a 'global city.' Major companies, including Delta Air Lines and The Home Depot, participated in the discussions, reinforcing the city’s collaborative approach to workforce development.
The luncheon strengthened Atlanta’s focus on youth empowerment and global engagement. By bringing together leaders from business, government, and education, the event aimed to create lasting pathways for students in STEAM fields. The partnership with Jamaica further solidified the city’s role as an international hub for innovation and opportunity.
