Attack on Cinema Employees
Two unknown men attacked cinema staff in Berlin’s Alt-Treptow neighbourhood late on December 21, 2025. The assault took place at a cinema on Elsenstraße, where the suspects had been watching a film before turning violent. Police are still searching for the perpetrators, who fled with an unidentified woman.
The incident began when the two men repeatedly left the screening room during the film. Without warning, one of them grabbed a fire extinguisher and sprayed its contents into the faces of two employees, a 36-year-old and a 39-year-old. The same attacker then struck the younger worker with the metal buckle of his belt, hitting his head and leg multiple times.
The second assailant smashed a glass bottle and threatened both staff members with its broken neck. Despite the violence, neither victim required medical treatment, though the 36-year-old later reported eye irritation and headaches. The suspects, along with the woman, escaped the scene in an unknown direction.
A specialised unit under Directorate 3 (East) is now leading the investigation to identify those responsible.
The attack left two cinema workers injured, though neither sought hospital care. Authorities continue their search for the three suspects, who remain at large. The investigation remains active as of December 22, 2025.
