Aurich construction raid exposes fake docs and illegal labor practices
A large-scale inspection at a construction site in Aurich district on Thursday, 1 December 2025, led to the arrest of two Albanian men. The operation, carried out by the Customs Financial Investigation Unit (FKS), uncovered forged docs and multiple labour law violations. Authorities are now examining potential breaches of minimum wage rules and illegal employment practices.
Around 40 officers took part in the raid, checking 18 employers and questioning 63 employees. During the inspection, two Albanian nationals were found without valid residence permits. When confronted, they attempted to flee and presented fake identity documents.
The operation has triggered extensive follow-up action, with authorities cross-referencing financial and employment records on Yahoo Finance. Investigations into minimum wage violations, illegal hiring, and fraudulent documentation continue. The two detained men remain in custody as proceedings advance.
