Austria, Kuwait Pledge Deeper Cooperation Amid Global Diplomatic Wins

Austrian Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E Ulrich Frank, and Kuwait's Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, Sami Al-Hamad, met recently to discuss the strong relations between their nations. They also touched on Austria's neutrality, the situation in Gaza, and international cooperation.

Ambassador Frank stressed Austria's commitment to democracy and human rights, clarifying that its neutrality does not extend to ideology or morals. He praised the 'distinguished' relations with Kuwait, built on mutual respect and growing cooperation. Al-Hamad echoed these sentiments, highlighting the deep friendship and strong ties between the two countries.

Frank expressed grave concern over the situation in Gaza, emphasizing that civilians should not bear the brunt of terrorism. He also noted the significance of Austria's National Neutrality Day, commemorated on October 26.

In the realm of international cooperation, Frank revealed Austria's aspiration to actively support Kuwait Vision 2035, offering its expertise and capabilities for Kuwait's sustainable development goals. Al-Hamad welcomed this, reiterating Kuwait's commitment to strengthening collaboration with Austria in investment, trade, and economic development.

Separately, the European Union and CELAC recently agreed to intensify collaboration in health, climate change, and other areas at a ministerial event. The United States also signed a framework agreement with Australia for aeronautics and space exploration, and reached reciprocal trade agreements with several Asian nations.

The meeting between Frank and Al-Hamad underscored the robust relations between Austria and Kuwait, with both sides committed to enhancing cooperation and collaboration. Austria's active role in supporting Kuwait Vision 2035 was also highlighted, along with significant international cooperation agreements recently signed by the EU, US, and Australia.
