Austria’s military proves global readiness in 2024 multinational exercises
The Austrian Armed Forces have successfully completed a series of international exercises and missions in 2024, demonstrating high operational capability and readiness for deployment. These activities involved a total of 799 personnel and incurred costs of approximately €3.31 million.
The missions, which included 23 exercises and training sessions abroad, saw Austria cooperate with partner nations such as Belgium, Germany, and France. The largest contingent of 355 personnel was deployed to a joint command and troop exercise in these countries, focusing on multinational operational readiness.
The exercises covered a wide range of skills, including leadership, crisis management, humanitarian aid, and evacuation preparedness. The total cost was broken down into €910,000 for personnel expenses and around €2.4 million for operational and material costs.
The Austrian Armed Forces' participation in these multinational exercises and missions has not only enhanced their operational capability but also strengthened cooperation with partner countries. The significant investment of time, resources, and personnel reflects Austria's commitment to maintaining a ready and capable military force in the global arena.
