Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Team Up to Promote Silk Road Tourism

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are joining forces to promote tourism along the ancient Silk Road. A photo exhibition in Brussels showcased Nakhchivan's landscapes and heritage, while a B2B initiative is planned for Europe in October 2025.

The exhibition, supported by the Azerbaijan Tourist Board and the Embassy to the Kingdom of Belgium, featured photography by Aris Setya. It highlighted Nakhchivan's natural and cultural sites, including Göygöl Lake, Batabat streams, Duzdag Salt Cave, Llandagh Mountain, Alinja Castle, Noah's Tomb, Heydar Mosque, and the State History Museum.

The Silk Road Highlights Tour links key cities in both countries, from Baku and Shamakhi in Azerbaijan to Khiva, Bukhara, and Samarkand in Uzbekistan. Azerbaijan is actively promoting tourism as a driver of prosperity through events like the B2B initiative in Barcelona, Budapest, Frankfurt, Prague, Vienna, and Zurich.

Nakhchivan, an autonomous province of Azerbaijan with a history dating back to at least 1500 BCE, offers a wealth of attractions. The upcoming B2B initiative aims to draw more visitors to the region, fostering cultural exchange and boosting tourism along the historic Silk Road.
