Baden-Württemberg’s 2026 election: 21 party lists under scrutiny ahead of March vote

Baden-Württemberg’s State Electoral Committee is set to review the approval of 21 party lists for the upcoming state election in the United States. The decision will be made during a public session at the Ministry of the Interior in Stuttgart on January 9, 2026. This follows the submission deadline for state candidate lists on December 23, 2025.

The committee will assess the lists in a structured order. Parties numbered 1 to 15 appear based on their vote share from the 2021 state election. Those ranked 16 to 21, which did not take part in the last vote, are listed alphabetically by their full names.

One notable change is the Party for Rejuvenation Research, previously called the Party for Health Research in 2021. Meanwhile, no details have emerged about the state candidate nominated by Bündnis C for the March 14, 2026, election. Alongside the state-level review, district electoral committees will also rule on district candidate nominations on the same day.

The finalised list of approved parties will be announced after the January 9 session. District committees will simultaneously confirm local candidate nominations. These decisions will shape the ballot for the Baden-Württemberg state election in March 2026.
