Baku Hosts D-8 Media Forum to Strengthen Regional Cooperation Through Journalism

Baku is hosting the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation Media Forum this week. Nearly 150 delegates, including 71 foreign representatives from eight member countries, have gathered for the main event. The forum aims to strengthen dialogue, cooperation, and regional solidarity through media collaboration.

The event opened with Hikmat Hajiyev, Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of Azerbaijan’s Presidential Administration, reading a message from President Ilham Aliyev. Senior media figures, renowned experts, and representatives from major organisations are attending the discussions.

The forum brings together media leaders and policymakers to address challenges in modern journalism. Discussions will cover ethical standards, digital transformation, and crisis response strategies. The outcomes may influence future media policies across the D-8 member states.
