Balgach approves 30 km/h zone after years of resident safety concerns
Balgach is moving forward with plans to introduce a 30 km/h speed limit on Grünensteinstrasse and nearby roads. The decision follows years of requests from local residents concerned about traffic safety. After a lengthy consultation process, the municipal council gave the project its approval in June 2025.
The project began with a public consultation phase in late 2024. Between September 16 and October 15, residents could review the proposed house plans and submit feedback. Eight formal submissions were received, and adjustments were made where possible.
The new 30 km/h zone aims to improve safety on Grünensteinstrasse and surrounding areas. The municipality has confirmed that further details will be shared as the project progresses. For now, the scheme awaits final cantonal approval before work can begin.
