Baltic States Debate Europe’s Future Amid Russia and Germany Tensions
Two free public events will examine Europe’s political landscape from the perspective of the Baltic states, Poland and Ukraine. Scheduled for Monday, November 24, and Tuesday, November 25, both discussions begin at 7 p.m. and focus on historical and contemporary relations with Russia and Germany. Organisers recommend advance registration for attendees.
The first event, 'Freedom Is Priceless': How the Three Baltic States View Russia and Germany, takes place on Monday at Room 4.64 in the Chemnitz Adult Education Center (Volkshochschule) at TIETZ, Moritzstraße 20. Christoph Eichhorn, Germany’s former ambassador to Estonia and Bulgaria, will lead the discussion. His talk will cover the Baltic states’ firm European orientation and their expectations of German foreign policy.
The discussions will provide perspectives on the Baltic states’ stance toward Russia and Germany, alongside wider reflections on Eastern Europe’s past and present. Free entry ensures broad access, though organisers advise booking ahead to guarantee attendance.
