Bamberg's Cemeteries Open Longer for All Saints' and All Souls' Days
Bamberg's cemeteries will observe special hours and rules this autumn. From 3 November 2025, work on gravesites can resume, and the cemeteries will return to their standard winter opening hours. However, different rules apply on All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
On All Saints’ Day (1 November 2025), the cemeteries will be open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, allowing more time for visitors. The following day, All Souls’ Day (2 November 2025), the opening hours will be extended even further, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. During these days, commercial work is prohibited, and delivery vehicles must leave the cemeteries by 8:30 AM.
Bicycles are not permitted inside the cemeteries on these two days. From 3 November 2025 onward, the cemeteries will resume their standard winter opening hours, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
The city administration of Bamberg has decided on these extended opening hours and rules to accommodate visitors during these important days. From 3 November 2025, work on gravesites can resume, and the cemeteries will operate under their usual winter hours.
