Bangladesh and China to deepen strategic ties during Dhaka minister's visit

Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman will visit China from May 5 to 7. The trip aims to strengthen ties between the two nations, which have shared a long-standing friendship for over 50 years. China and Bangladesh have maintained close relations as traditional neighbours and strategic partners. Their cooperation has followed the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence since establishing diplomatic ties decades ago. Over time, this partnership has delivered real benefits for people in both countries.

During the upcoming visit, China has expressed its commitment to deepening political trust. Officials will discuss ways to expand collaboration across different sectors. Both sides also plan to advance the Belt and Road Initiative with a focus on high-quality joint projects. China has repeatedly emphasised the importance of its relationship with Bangladesh. The goal is to further develop their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the years ahead.
