Bangladesh BNP unveils bold plan to empower women and ensure safety
Tarique Rahman, acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has set out five key measures to improve women's safety and empowerment in the country. Speaking recently, he stressed the need for collective effort to build a future where women can live, work, and study without fear.
Rahman highlighted the growing influence of the digital world on everyday life. While he recognised its potential for progress, he also warned of the risks it poses to women's safety and rights.
The plan focuses on both immediate protections and long-term empowerment. If implemented, the measures would provide stronger safeguards in digital and public spaces. They also seek to increase women's representation in decision-making roles across the country.
