Bangladesh Parties Unite on 10-Point Plan to Protect Children’s Rights Before 2026 Vote
Twelve political parties in Bangladesh have signed a 10-point manifesto to protect children’s rights ahead of the 2026 elections. The agreement, backed by UNICEF, aims to improve education, healthcare, and safety for millions of young people across the country. Leaders from each party pledged to turn these promises into concrete policies if elected.
The manifesto was developed with input from children and outlines key priorities. These include boosting education, healthcare, and nutrition, as well as creating safer communities and tackling child poverty. Climate challenges affecting young people were also addressed in the plan.
The signed manifesto now forms part of the political parties’ election commitments. If implemented, the 10-point plan would increase funding, reform policies, and improve health and safety for children nationwide. The next steps depend on the outcome of the 2026 elections and the follow-through from elected leaders.
