Bangladesh Workers Party demands fair and transparent parliamentary elections
The Workers Party of Bangladesh has called for the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections to be fair, neutral, and free from interference. Party leaders met with the Election Commission on Monday to push for a transparent and inclusive voting process. During the meeting, the delegation demanded that all political parties be allowed to take part in the Jatiya Sangsad elections. They stressed the need for an environment where voters can cast their ballots without fear or pressure. The party also proposed strict measures to stop vote-buying, intimidation, and undue influence from loan defaulters or muscle power. Their request included a call for law enforcement and the army to remain neutral throughout the election period. In addition, the Workers Party insisted on creating a non-communal and democratic atmosphere for the polls. They urged the Election Commission to take steps that ensure every citizen can participate freely and safely. The Election Commission has been asked to enforce neutrality among security forces and prevent any form of electoral misconduct. The Workers Party’s demands aim to guarantee that the 13th parliamentary elections are conducted with fairness and integrity. The outcome will depend on how these concerns are addressed in the coming weeks.
