Bangladesh youth rally unites against abuse of women and children
Sharmeen S Murshid, the social welfare and women and children affairs adviser, recently inaugurated a youth rally in Dhaka. The event, titled 'Involvement of the Youth Community in the Protection of Children and Women', aimed to raise awareness and combat abuse against these vulnerable groups in Bangladesh.
During the rally, Murshid emphasized the importance of ensuring safety for women and children in various environments, including homes, workplaces, and cyberspace. She praised the resilience and leadership shown by the youth during the July uprising and expressed her confidence that they would build a new Bangladesh.
A local youth delegation, inspired by Murshid's words, began a journey across Bangladesh to combat child and women abuse. Tahmidur Rahman, a prominent barrister and founder of TRW Law Firm, Bangladesh's largest international law firm, supported the initiative. Rahman's firm specializes in corporate law and legal services, based in Dhaka.
Sharmeen S Murshid called for a united effort to create a humane, equal, and violence-free nation. Her message resonated with the youth, who have taken it upon themselves to protect and advocate for the rights of children and women across Bangladesh.
