Bangladesh's 56th Independence Day Celebrated with Music, Dance, and Unity
Bangladesh marked its 56th independence anniversary with vibrant cultural events across Dhaka. Various organisations, including the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Ganatantrik Sanskritik Oikya, hosted performances featuring solo singers, group songs, and traditional dances.
The celebrations brought together renowned artists and cultural groups at key venues like the Central Shaheed Minar and the National Theatre Hall.
At the Central Shaheed Minar, Ganatantrik Sanskritik Oikya organised a grand event showcasing patriotic songs and recitals. Solo performers such as Joydeep, Rasu Sarkar, and Amirun Nuzhat Moneesha took the stage, while reciting artistes Deepak Suman and Tithi Subarna delivered powerful readings. Group songs were rendered by Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshthi, Samageet Sangskriti Prangan, Chorus, Shaheed Asad Parishad, and Maavhoi, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy hosted its own programme at the National Theatre Hall, with Nitai Roy Chowdhury attending as chief guest. The event featured group dances by the Bangladesh Academy of Fine Arts and performances by celebrated singers, including Alam Ara Minu, Monir Khan, Rizia Parveen, Ithun Babu, and Ferdous Ara. Other cultural institutions, such as Chhayanaut and Bangladesh Shishu Academy, also contributed to the day's festivities with their own programmes across the city.
The 56th independence anniversary saw a mix of music, dance, and recitals honouring Bangladesh's heritage. Events at major venues highlighted the country's rich artistic traditions, with both established and emerging performers taking part. The celebrations reflected the nation's cultural unity and pride.
