Banned Bangladesh student leader jailed after dramatic arrest in Sylhet
Misbaul Karim Rafiq, president of Sylhet Engineering College unit of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League, has been apprehended and remanded to jail. The Rapid Action Battalion seized him at Tukerbazar in Companiganj and handed him over to local police.
Rafiq, a resident of Islampur village in Companiganj, was initially taken into custody by the RAB at Tukerbazar. He was subsequently transferred to the Companiganj police station. The following day, Rafiq was produced before the Sylhet chief judicial magistrate court. The court, after examining the case status, ordered Rafiq's remand. He was sent to jail, pending further legal proceedings.
