Bart Township to Discuss New Zoning Ordinance at Nov 5 Hearing

Bart Township is set to discuss a new zoning ordinance at a public hearing on November 5, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. The ordinance, titled the Bart Township Zoning Ordinance of 2025, aims to provide comprehensive zoning regulations for the township. Following the hearing, the ordinance could be enacted within 60 days of its second publication.

The proposed ordinance consists of eight articles, covering definitions, zoning districts, use regulations, and administrative provisions. It also includes a Bart Map that assigns a zoning classification to all land within the township. Residents can obtain copies of the ordinance for the cost of reproduction at the Bart Township Municipal Building during the hearing hours. Additionally, the ordinance can be examined at the offices of local newspapers and the municipal building on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays by appointment only.

The public hearing will take place at the Bart Township Municipal Building, located at 46 Quarry Road, Quarryville, Pennsylvania. The ordinance aims to provide a clear framework for land use and development within the township.
