Bavaria Designates 'Days of Quiet Reflection' in November

Bavaria has designated three dates in November as 'dates of quiet reflection': All Saints’ Day (November 1), Remembrance Sunday (November 16), and the Sunday of the Dead (November 23). These dates, along with the Day of Repentance and Prayer (November 19, 2025), have specific restrictions to maintain tranquility.

On these dates, any work likely to disturb the peace is banned. This includes sporting events on the Day of Repentance and Prayer, but they are allowed on the other 'dates of quiet reflection'. Dance events and entertainment businesses must also close. Public entertainment events are permitted only if they maintain a solemn character.

Employees belonging to the relevant faith are entitled to take the Day of Repentance and Prayer off work without any disadvantages. Between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on this date, avoidable noisy activities near places of worship are forbidden. These protections begin at 2:00 a.m. and end at midnight.

These regulations aim to preserve the solemnity and reflection of these dates. While the Day of Repentance and Prayer has specific restrictions, the other 'dates of quiet reflection' have similar protections to ensure peace and tranquility.
