Bavarian Minister Praises Sudeten German Association's 75-Year Commitment to Culture and Integration

The Sudeten German Association in Roßtal is marking its 75th anniversary. Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann attended the celebrations, praising the group's leaders and members for embodying values like solidarity and integration.

Herrmann lauded the group's leader, though their name was not provided, for their dedication to preserving Sudeten German traditions and culture. The regional group, he said, serves as a 'vital bridge' connecting Europe's diverse communities.

The anniversary also offered a chance to remember the expulsion of Sudeten Germans eight decades ago. Herrmann stressed the importance of preventing war and protecting the innocent. He thanked the association for their work in promoting remembrance culture, citing the Sudeten German Museum in Munich's nomination for the European Museum of the Year Award in 2023 as an example.

Bavaria's state government views the Sudeten Germans as an integral part of Bavarian society, describing them as an indispensable 'fourth tribe'. Herrmann echoed this sentiment, emphasizing their role as 'vital allies and partners' in upholding shared values.
