Bavarian Police receives initial delivery of two H145 helicopters manufactured by Airbus.
The Bavarian Police have taken delivery of the first two of eight Airbus H145 helicopters, marking a significant upgrade in their law enforcement capabilities. This delivery is part of a larger order of eight helicopters, with the remaining six set to follow.
The H145 helicopters will be equipped for a variety of public service missions, including transporting external loads and firefighting. They will also be used for law enforcement missions, and will replace the Bavarian Police's current H135 fleet, which has been in service for over twelve years.
The H145 helicopter is renowned for its quietness and low carbon emissions. It is the quietest helicopter in its class and has the lowest CO2 emissions amongst its competitors, making it ideal for discreet law enforcement operations.
The H145 is powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines and is equipped with full authority digital engine control and the Helionix digital avionics suite. This cutting-edge technology provides reliable and efficient power, reduces pilot workload, and enhances operational safety.
The helicopters will also feature advanced electronic self-protection systems and ballistic protection, ensuring survivability and operational effectiveness in hostile or challenging environments. They will also have a five-bladed main rotor and a winch, enhancing lifting and rescue capabilities, as well as maneuverability in urban and difficult terrain.
The new version of the H145 helicopter also features a five-bladed rotor, increasing the useful load by 150kg. This additional capacity will be invaluable for the Bavarian Police's diverse range of missions.
The first two H145 helicopters delivered to the Bavarian Police are currently being used for pilot and crew training. The first fully equipped police helicopter is scheduled for delivery in mid-2024.
With more than 200 H145 helicopters already in service around the world for public service and law enforcement missions, the Bavarian Police can be confident that they are investing in a proven and reliable platform.
