Belarus overhauls military training as 10,000 conscripts take oath

More than 10,000 conscripts across Belarus took their oath of allegiance to the Motherland today. Family members, friends, and loved ones attended ceremonies to show their support for the young servicemen as they began their military service.

Defence Minister Andrei Awiejew announced updates to military training programmes during the event. The revised curriculum now places greater emphasis on individual skills, including firearms handling, tactical drills, engineering, combat medicine, drone operations, and counter-drone techniques.

The changes come as Belarus strengthens its military training standards. Conscripts will now face tougher fitness tests and more specialised instruction. Meanwhile, contract service applicants must meet higher criteria before joining the ranks.
