Belarusian Railways overhauls routes, leaving some regions without trains
Belarusian Railways (BelaRZD) has announced significant alterations to its train services commencing December 13. Multiple routes will be modified or discontinued, impacting passengers across various regions. The changes encompass new connections, discontinued lines, and adjusted stops.
One of the primary changes involves train No. 610/609 on the Hrodna–Homiel–Hrodna route. Formerly, this service operated directly, but it will now traverse a different path: from Hrodna to Lida, then to Baranavichy, Luninets, and through Polesie before reaching Homiel. Passengers traveling from Homiel to Hrodna will have two options—either via Baranavichy and Luninets or via Lida and Minsk.
These changes will come into effect from December 13, reshaping travel choices for numerous passengers. Certain areas, especially in northern Belarus, will lose rail connections entirely, while others gain new route alternatives. BelaRZD has not revealed further adjustments at this time.
