Benedict takes over Military Relations of German Lufthansa
Lufthansa has appointed Tom Benedict as its new Manager Defense Policy & Military Relations. He will take up the role at the airline’s Berlin office on October 15. Benedict brings a varied background in political affairs, military service, and corporate work to the position.
Benedict’s career spans multiple sectors. He previously served as an air force officer before moving into private industry. His roles included positions at the Würth Group and defence technology firm Hensoldt.
At Lufthansa, he will work under two senior figures. Maximilian Kiewel, Director Defense Policy & Military Relations, and Jan Körner, head of the Berlin corporate office, will oversee his work. The appointment strengthens the airline’s focus on defence and military partnerships.
The new manager starts on October 15. His experience in military, corporate, and political fields will support Lufthansa’s defence-related activities. Reporting lines have been established to ensure coordination with existing leadership.
