Bennett Hack: Hackers Publish Macron's Contact Details
Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has fallen victim to a cyberattack on his Telegram account. The breach, claimed by a pro-Palestinian hacker group, exposed private messages, photos, and sensitive contact details. The incident was disclosed between 16 and 18 December 2025.
The attack was carried out by a group calling itself 'Handala', which has ties to Iran. They named the operation 'Octopus' and released files they claimed to have extracted from Bennett’s account. Among the leaked data were contacts of high-profile figures, including French President Emmanuel Macron, Israeli government officials, and security personnel.
Bennett confirmed that while his phone itself remained secure, unauthorised access to his Telegram account had occurred. He later stated that the incident would not affect his political plans or ambitions. The hackers published the stolen material in mid-December 2025, drawing attention to the vulnerability of digital communications even among high-ranking officials.
The breach has raised concerns about the security of private communications for public figures. Bennett’s response suggests he remains focused on his political career despite the attack. The leaked information, now in the public domain, includes details that could have wider diplomatic and security implications.
