Bergisch Gladbach unites for 2026’s bold anti-racism campaign in March
Bergisch Gladbach is gearing up for the International Weeks Against Racism 2026, running from March 16 to 29. The event, organised locally by Bündnis für Vielfalt und gegen Rassismus Bergisch Gladbach e.V., will focus on the theme '100% Human Dignity. United Against Racism and Far-Right Extremism'. Organisers are now calling for proposals from across the community.
The International Weeks Against Racism are held every year under the coordination of the German Institute for Human Rights. In Bergisch Gladbach, the newly formed Bündnis für Vielfalt und gegen Rassismus—established in early 2025—has taken over planning duties. This follows the dissolution of the Anti-Racism and Diversity Alliance, which had operated since 2024 before internal disputes led to its closure in late 2024.
The International Weeks Against Racism 2026 will bring together diverse voices in Bergisch Gladbach. With submissions due by the end of January, the event promises a wide range of community-led initiatives. The programme will run for two weeks, offering multiple ways for locals to engage with anti-racism efforts.
