Bergisch Gladbach’s ‘wortspieGL’ Festival Champions Democracy Through Art and Dialogue
The City of Bergisch Gladbach and the library team are backing a significant event, 'wortspieGL', with free admission. This 'Festival of Diversity' will celebrate democratic values and pluralism, taking place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Bergisch Gladbach City Library (Forum Bergisch Gladbach).
The event, organized by Grandmothers Against the Far Right (Bergisch Gladbach chapter), aims to strengthen democratic society by providing food for thought and reading material. It will feature interview projects, art installations, readings, and lectures on topics such as democracy, equality, climate action, and diversity. Panel discussions and networking opportunities will also be available. Various initiatives, bookshops, and organizations will present information booths and bookstalls on key societal issues.
The 'wortspieGL' event is a testament to the city's commitment to democratic values and open society. By fostering solidarity and countering far-right rhetoric, the event seeks to refocus on the foundations of democracy and celebrate the diversity that enriches our society.
