Berlin & Brandenburg's Packed October: Film Festivals, Unity Celebrations & Cultural Events
Berlin and Brandenburg are gearing up for a packed October, filled with film festivals, celebrations of German unity, and cultural events. Kicking off the month is the Mubi film festival, followed by the main celebrations for German Unity Day, and culminating in the city festival in Teltow.
The Mubi film festival begins on October 6th with a red carpet event at Event-Space Kwia on the Maybachufer. The festival opens with Kelly Reichardt's film 'The Mastermind', with the director herself in attendance to introduce the film. The festival runs for three days at the Silent Green Kulturquartier.
Also on October 6th, the German Historical Museum offers free guided tours through the exhibition 'Roads not Taken'. This coincides with the main celebrations for German Unity Day, which are taking place in the Saarland this year. Berlin and Brandenburg are also hosting their own celebrations.
The city festival in Teltow is celebrating 35 years of German unity from October 6th to 8th. Berlin DJ legend Westbam and cult DDR singer Frank Schöbel will perform at the festival, promising a lively atmosphere. The festival week 'Der Tag der Clubkultur' is also focusing on reunification this year, featuring over a hundred events until October 12th.
October in Berlin and Brandenburg promises a rich mix of culture, history, and celebration. From film festivals to historical exhibitions and unity celebrations, there's something for everyone. Mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy the diverse events on offer.
