Berlin Bridge Attack Leaves Two Cars Damaged by Deliberately Dropped Rock
A rock was deliberately dropped from a bridge in Berlin-Marzahn on January 20, 2026, causing damage to two moving cars. The incident, which occurred along Märkische Allee, is now under investigation by police as a case of dangerous interference with road traffic.
At around the time of the attack, a 22-year-old driver had their windshield shattered when a large rock struck their vehicle. The force of the impact also dented the car’s hood. Shortly afterwards, a second driver, aged 36, ran over the same rock, resulting in a blown tire.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and recovered the rock as evidence. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported from either incident. The case has since been handed over to the specialized traffic crimes unit of Police Directorate 1 (North). The identities of the perpetrators remain unknown, and police have not disclosed further details about the ongoing investigation.
The incident has left two vehicles with significant damage, though no one was hurt. Police continue to examine the evidence in an effort to identify those responsible for the attack. The investigation remains active under suspicion of endangering road users.
