Berlin bus stop brawl leaves singer with life-threatening stab wounds
A violent altercation at a Berlin bus stop left one man with life-threatening injuries. The incident unfolded in the Gesundbrunnen district late on Wednesday evening. Two men, aged 27 and 35, clashed with a singer before the confrontation turned physical.
The trouble began around 9:20 p.m. near the corner of Tromsøer Straße and Schwedenstraße. A man was singing when the two others told him to stop, sparking a heated argument. The 27-year-old then allegedly smashed a glass bottle and used it to stab the singer multiple times.
The victim suffered deep wounds to his arm, neck, and face, requiring immediate surgery. He also had a laceration on his head. Both the attacker and the 35-year-old were heavily intoxicated, with blood alcohol levels of around 0.20% and 0.14% respectively. When police arrived, they found the 35-year-old restraining the attacker while the victim kicked the singer in the head. Officers arrested the 27-year-old at the scene. Authorities have not released the names of those involved. Investigators are now examining claims of grievous bodily harm from all parties.
The 27-year-old remains in custody as the inquiry continues. The injured singer is recovering in hospital after emergency treatment. Police have not yet confirmed whether further charges will follow.
