Berlin Celebrates Central Asian Culture in Vibrant Student Picnic
On June 29th, Berlin's Friedrichshain Volkspark hosted a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, organised by the Kazakh Students Association in Germany (KSAG) and the Uzbekistan Students Union (UzSU). The event, attended by over a hundred young people from Central Asia and beyond, was a delightful blend of traditions, food, and friendship.
The day was filled with engaging activities. A quiz about Central Asian history and culture tested participants' knowledge, with the winning team rewarded with fantastic prizes. The highlight, however, was the Bingo game, where players sought out individuals embodying various aspects of Central Asian culture and traditions.
The event was more than just a gathering; it was a networking opportunity. Young people from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries came together, forging new friendships and promoting cultural exchange. The organisers, Temirlan Nakeyev of KSAG and Maftuna Rakhim of UzSU, ensured every detail was covered, from the diverse buffet featuring Central Asian specialties like plov and shashlik to the games and prizes, all sponsored equally by both organisations.
The event was a resounding success, with Nakeyev expressing his satisfaction with the diverse attendance. It was a testament to the power of cultural exchange and the potential for cooperation between student associations from different countries. The proceeds from donations covered the picnic's costs, ensuring a memorable and meaningful celebration of Central Asian culture in the heart of Berlin.
